Yarn Manufacturing

Fiber into yarn — the spinning process — is the most important link in the textile production chain.

To meet the ever-growing demand for yarn and quality requirements — and to always actively participate in the increasingly competitive global textile market — continuous improvement is essential. For decades, as a leading manufacturer of power transmission belts and conveyor belts, Monty has always worked closely with customers, keeping pace with the diversified development of yarn and textile production. This has laid the foundation for our successful short- and long-term cooperation with textile machinery manufacturers and producers in the short-staple fiber industry and in the global man-made fiber industry. In yarn manufacturing, Monty can provide the following products:

—Power transmission belts

—Spindle tapes Tangential belts

—Conveyor and processing belts. Monty Power Belts, P Series: The P Series of Monty high-efficiency flat belts uses highly wear-resistant elastomer G or chrome-tanned leather coatings/facings on both sides.

The polyamide tension member has good elastic properties/behavior, thereby reducing shock and vibration.

The elastomer G friction coating is suitable for all standard drives of carding machines, drawing frames, and fans, as well as the main drive belts of spinning frames and two-for-one twisters operating under dry and dusty conditions.

The chrome leather L friction coating is suitable for all standard drives of carding machines, drawing frames, and roving frames, as well as the main and auxiliary drive belts of two-for-one twisters and texturing machines, especially where oil and grease factors play a role.

On cone drum drives, the belt can be moved easily, mainly thanks to its particularly hard edges and the good sliding properties and wear resistance of the chrome leather friction facing.

Monty Power Belts, E Series: The innovative E Series of Monty high-efficiency flat belts uses a highly wear-resistant elastomer G friction coating on both sides and is suitable for any simple two-pulley drive or multi-pulley drive.

Through appropriate selection of the installation elongation, the various polyester tension members and the larger operating elongation range of 1.0 – 2.5% make individual power transmission possible.

The flexible belt structure of the Monty E Series makes it a universal drive belt, particularly suitable for mule spinning frames or torsion drives, and also suitable for applications with small pulley diameters.

The symmetrical belt design and the smooth single-layer finger splice ensure accurate belt tracking and minimize angular velocity deviation. The elastic tension member made of thermoplastic helps save energy, is essentially unaffected by fluctuations in environmental conditions, and ensures virtually zero maintenance.

—Monty spindle tapes are mainly used for common ring spinning frames and twisting machines fitted with drives for two, four, or eight spindles, and are also suitable for the latest high-speed ring spinning frames and high-performance twisting machines.

Monty power belts have permanent antistatic properties; the pulley side coating is made of wear-resistant polyurethane, and the wharve side uses a wear-resistant impregnated fabric.

The brand-new high-efficiency spindle tape UT 8E is equipped with an energy-saving tension member made of a new high-strength polyester blended fiber (E), enabling very high power transmission. This capability makes it suitable not only for high-speed ring spinning frames with spindle speeds of up to 25,000 rpm, but also for heavy-duty twisting machines for synthetic yarns.

The double-layer standard spindle tape UT 5P is fitted with a powerful elastic tension member made of polyamide blended fabric and can be used for large amounts of power transmission, even under heavy-load operating conditions.

Sectional tangential belt drives. These types of drives place high demands on tangential belts: the belt surface must be able to withstand high mechanical stress and thermal stress — especially during spindle stopping and acceleration; precise belt tracking with almost no deviation; the greatest possible belt flexibility, with simple and reliable endless splicing.

The characteristics of the Monty A + E Series are designed to maximize their advantages in this application field. The highly modular flexible belt design can save energy and reduce spindle speed variation. Precise single-layer finger splices ensure high belt tracking and smooth handling of the machinery. This achieves improved yarn quality and an increased service life of drive components, while reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs.

—Whether for twisting machines, texturing machines, ring spinning frames, or two-for-one twisters, the following requirements for tangential belts are becoming increasingly important: achieving the greatest possible effective tensile force transmission while making the fullest use of the technical characteristics; reducing the noise generated as speed increases; and functioning reliably to ensure high productivity.

In addition to the reasonably priced and widely used Monty P Series tangential belts, the highly modular tangential belts of the Monty A + E Series are also being used increasingly frequently.

For the cost-effective mass production of textile machinery, spindle designs with concave/convex drive geometries have been proven repeatedly. Their design eliminates the use of pressure rollers, achieves smaller pulley diameters and shorter tensioning ranges, and in some cases is unaffected by environmental fluctuation conditions, ultimately resulting in the following requirements: — Precise tracking and low-noise operation — Energy saving, flexibility.

The highly modular tension member is essentially unaffected by climate, ensuring a long conveyor belt service life.

The highly innovative Monty E Series can provide the maximum benefit for possible application technologies, setting a brand-new cost/benefit standard for operating and maintenance costs.

Since the early stages of open-end spinning technology, Monty high-efficiency tangential belts have always been closely associated with the rapid growth of rotor speeds.

Monty rubber sheet-based tangential belts have become the mainstream belt type in rotor tangential belt technology:

—Precise HP ground surface.

In modern spinning systems and possible subsequent fabric processing, Monty conveyor and processing belts can achieve cost-effective automated material flow.

Monty conveyor belts can also ensure excellent quality and flexibility in the production process, mainly due to: smooth conveying in the blowroom process; sliver conveying on carding machines and drawing frames; mixing and cleaning; sliver feeding on ring spinning frames; waste removal on open-end spinning machines; and reliable conveying of full and empty bobbins.

Improving the conveying efficiency of yarn tubes, cops, or yarn tube trays in fully automatic linked systems, winders, and two-for-one twisters, as well as improving the full-package conveying efficiency of winders and two-for-one twisters.

Depending on the belt structure and coating, Monty conveyor belts have the following characteristics: Antistatic

—Excellent conductivity in accordance with ISO/DIN Low noise

—Resistant to chemical factors such as oil mist

—High-adhesion or low-adhesion smooth surfaces, or textured, wear-resistant surfaces

—Gentle handling of materials

—Stain resistant.
